THE JUAREZ FAM
The last two weeks have been filled with fun!
We ended the summer season with another check off my “Summer Bucket List”- Big Splash! The kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it!
We had a super-fun filled Saturday at the Tulsa Botanic Gardens. We went for the Monarch Exhibit and with Norah’s absolute infatuation with butterflies- she was in heaven! They taught about butterflies, showed everyone caterpillars and chrysalis’ in different stages, let the kids set butterflies free and had a craft time. At the end of the fun, Norah’s name was drawn to take a chrysalis home. She was shocked and thrilled. She even screamed in excitement! 🙂 Watching our butterfly emerge from his make shift home above our fireplace was amazing! Norah named the butterfly (who she was thrilled was a girl) “Mary-Ella” and prayed that she would have a safe journey to finding new friends in our backyard.
The kids both school activities and their 1st Days of School. They are both so excited for this fun new chapter! Jonah got the “Music Shining Star” sticker on his first day, he told me it was, “Because I sang SOOO good!” Such a proud little man!
Last Saturday, we did Philbrooks’ Second Saturday with the cousins. This is an amazing event in the Tulsa area! The kids loved all the creative crafts, exploring the gardens and most of all- riding a double decker bus! I am so thankful to raise a family in a place with endless adventures.
THE SMITH FAM
Last week Tucker had his first soccer practice with Daddy while Em and I went to her new school’s open house. She loved meeting her teachers and picking a cubby right next to Jonah’s. 🙂
Matt’s parents came to town for a visit and we had lots of fun family time over the weekend. We did lots of grilling out and playing games. We did a visit to Guthrie Green to hear the orchestra, see the fireworks, and of course take a dip in the fountains. We indulged in Wild Fork’s DELICOUS beignets and met Tinker Bell while at
Utica. We ended the trip with some sushi and early birthday celebration in honor of Uncle H.J. 🙂
We spent Labor Day swimming and playing cards at my parents house. My kids are in love with their dogs and gave them quite the greeting. The kids have been having one of those weeks where they get along really well and act like best friends. Love it! They’ve been making up their own games, cracking up, and even cuddling and yelling, “Look at us, Mom!” 🙂 Emmy had her first day of school and it was such a success. Her and Jonah were the cutest little Preschool Pals. 🙂 Our friend AJ flew in last minute on Friday night for a boys weekend in honor of HJ and Josh’s birthdays. We decided to make an adventure out of picking him and brought the kids along in their pjs and slippers to greet “ABC’s”!! 🙂
While the guys did their paintball and poker Ang and I took the kids to Philbrook for their second Saturday activities. It was our first time and we loved it. We’ll definitely be back again for more fun. We made our own hats, did truck paintings, and rode a double decker bus around downtown. We ate outside at the Rusty Crane and soaked up all this gorgeous weather. Later we got a sister date without the kiddos which is super rare and cherished.
