Our Week in Snapshots

Norah’s favorite part of the week was doing American Girl dance camp with her sweet school friend. The girls had a blast playing, dancing and dressing up. When Norah came home, she told Josh and I that she REALLY wanted an American Girl doll. Josh looks shocked, “Oh really, don’t you think they’re kinda silly?” Norah just stares, “No, Daddy! Have you seen them??” Classic dad moment. πŸ™‚

Jonah’s favorite part of the week was craft day at our sweet friend Heather’s house. He loved painting, cutting, and exploring all the creativity. Heather is such a gifted teacher and to see her in her element is such a joy! Jonah LOVED every moment… and Norah did too!

Mommy and Daddy’s favorite part of the week was definitely the bike ride and family sleepover- such an expected time of fun! (see pictures above)

The rest of the week was great too! We played more tennis, explored, and splashed. We helped the River’s family move and Mine’s twinΒ boys joined us for their first swim play-date- Norah was in little mama heaven!

We ended the weekend with a family-style, splash pad birthday partyΒ for another one of Norah’s sweet school friends. The kidsΒ had a great time playing together and the parents loved catching up on life. Spending time with Norah’s classmates and their parents always leaves me so thankful! We are blessed to be doing life with these beautiful families!

Monday evening we saw Minions at the drive-in with the cousins. We blew up a mattress for the back of Matt’s truck and brought tons of snacks. The kids cuddled in their pjs and loved the Oklahoma experience. Love making memories with this crew!

It’s been such a HOT week here and we did lots of swimming and splash pads to keep cool with friends!

Thursday was our 5th anniversary so Matt planned a spectacular date night for us. He started the day with mimosas, a breakfast scramble, and the sweetest homemade card. That evening he surprised me with a helicopter ride around the city (which both terrified and excited me). I felt so “bachelorette”. πŸ™‚ Love this man and am so thankful to be his wife!

Friday we got together with little friends for a special morning of crafts by Ms. Andrew. πŸ™‚ The kids loved getting all messy, doing bubble paint, finger paint, and collaging. We finished off the morning with Chick-fil-A lunch!

Friday night we did a big family bike ride to Q-doba with the kids in the trailers. This was one of my favorite nights of summer so far. The kids love making up words (“agadooogy hooky boo!”) and squeal at each other cracking up. They did this the whole way there and back in their bike trailers. πŸ™‚ After our long, hot ride we stripped the kids to their undies and let them go crazy with the hose on the deck. They were having the time of their lives spraying each other. Em kept saying, “This is EMMY’s splash pad!!” πŸ™‚ We all had a sleepover and stayed up late watching a movie and eating way to much Ben and Jerry’s.

We hit the pool as soon as it opened on Saturday morning and Em conquered jumping fearlessly into the water. Makes my mama heart so proud!

After church Em joined me for a baby shower celebrating baby Brighton. Em loved that she got to swim once again! And, as soon as we walked in the door Dad asked if we could head to visit HJ, Chelsea, and Georgia at their pool. We never stop swimming! πŸ™‚
