When we rolled up at Gram and Pa’s house on Christmas evening, everyone was waiting to greet us in the culdesac with hugs, squeals, and flashlights. It was time for an epic treasure hunt. Pa had written out clues for each of the kids to follow. They took turns being “Jake” (anyone else’s kids obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates?) and searching for their treasure. They were in complete awe tromping through the back field, weeding through bushes, and pulling back the sheets to their big surprises!
Once all the pirate booty was found we headed inside for another big reveal- my parents go all out! Each kid got to whip off another curtain to reveal their adorable little art desks. These were genius. The kids spent the majority of the night playing at their desks together while the adults unwrapped gifts. Even Tuck loved his little spot. 🙂
After dinner we exchanged more gifts. I love when the cousins get so excited to give each other what they picked out. Tucker found Jonah’s little cowboy hat and was so proud of himself! Emmy loved her new Frozen dolls from Gram and kept telling us, “They’re married!!!” 🙂
