*We love visiting the Guthrie Green fountains with friends. I was planning on bringing the kids but we’d been going nonstop and overslept one morning. When I asked Emmy if she wanted to get ready quickly and go to “the fountains” here’s what she told me..

E: “Nooo… I don’t want go to the fountains. I just wanta stay home. Β I don’t want to be wet anymore!”

Me: (laughing) “Okay, Em”

E: “The fountains are really pretty but Jonah-man’s gonna go there his self and Emmy’s going to stay home with her blocks”20140715-152826.jpg

*Emmy is still just as in love with her little blue guitar as ever. She walks around strumming away making up lyrics on a regular basis. But, the other day I heard a new song I really liked. πŸ˜‰

E: (singing) “Mommy is my favorite… ohhh Mommy is my favorite!”

Me: “Wow! I love that song!”

Matt: “Hey! What about daddy!?”

E: (singing) “And Daddy is my best buddyyyyy… My daddy is sooo cute!” πŸ™‚
20140715-155933.jpg*Several weeks ago Emmy was dealing with a little cold. When I went in to get her one morning her whole upper lip was covered in dried snot (poor girl) which led to the following convo…

Me: “Oooh Em! I’m so sorry.. let’s clean you off!”

E: (folding her lip over her teeth) “I got a BIG mustache mom! Emmy’s got a REALLY big mustache!!”20140715-155923.jpg

*Em is super good at memorizing repetitive books and reading them from memory using the pictures. She got all the way to the end of “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” perfectly until the teacher part..

E: “Goldfish, goldfish, what do you see? I see a teacher looking at me” (then she adds) “And I see your glasses, said the goldfish! hehehe”

She never fails to point out glasses in any picture! πŸ™‚20140715-152801.jpg*I received a tank top in the mail and held it up after unwrapping it..

E: “What’s that!?”

Me: “My shirt”

E: “That’s too big for you, Mom!”

*Em’s new favorite game is catch. She’s asks me to play it with her about five times every single day. It’s a riveting game where one of us actually catches it about once a day. πŸ™‚ So coach Emmy decided to give me a pep talk the other day and it had me cracking up..

E: “Okay! Don’t worry, Mom! You get it next time!” “Now, bounce the ball, Mom. Remember to use your arms. I know you can do it!” “Good job, Mom!”

She’s such an encourager! πŸ™‚20140715-152858.jpg*Now that Em goes potty on the toilet I feel like we have the best conversations in the bathroom. Last time we were having a little pow-wow in there she explains this to me..

E: “You little! You a little mommy, Mommy! And daddy’s a BIIIG daddy! He’s a BIG MATT! Daddy’s a really big Matt! And Tucker’s a little Tucker. He’s a little boy down there!”20140716-133851.jpgCheck out past Emersonisms here for more laughs. πŸ™‚
