Matt’s parents rolled into Tulsa on Friday night and have been covering the kids in kisses and cuddles ever since. Emmy LOVES these two and is so delighted every time we get some place and she realizes Pops and Grandma are there. Matt’s mom is a total baby hog which is about the best thing a mom of two could ask for. 🙂 She insists on putting both kids to bed each night, teaches them new songs about Jesus, and treasures bottle time with Tuck. It makes me so happy to see my babies soaking up time with them while they’re here and making so many memories.
We spent Monday morning playing at Discovery Lab and exploring all their new exhibits. They have so many cool things right now including: rope swings, light painting, and of course lots of balls. This is such a fun thing to do with the kids on a rainy day or when it’s just way too hot to get outside. If you haven’t gone yet, you need to put it on the list for sure. They also have a great splash pad right outside if you need to cool off after your time exploring. 🙂
Emmy loved these hard hats and kept saying over and over again, “Look mom! I a fire truck!!! I a fire truck hat! Tucker wants to wear fire truck too!!”
Unfortunately we’ve been dealing with some potty training regression over here. It’s been super disappointing since she did so well so fast and was totally independent there for a few weeks. I guess Discovery Lab was a little too entertaining and we wound up with a little accident on our hands. Tis the mom life for sure. Seriously, nothing fazes me anymore. Bodily fluids? just par for the course. This morning I woke to Tucker who went #2 and somehow got his own diaper off in his crib. It was a great way to start the day to say the least. 🙂 I’m making motherhood sound really good, huh?! 😉
Anyway, it really has been a great week so far with family in town. We even unexpectadly welcomed a new member who we’re so excited about. Can’t wait to share more about her surprise arrival to this party of cousins!
