THE SMITH FAM
After spending the first part of our week living it up in Cancun, we came home late Wednesday night to Matt’s parents. They had been watching the kids at the house since Monday night. Thank you!!! We missed the kids SO much and couldn’t wait til morning to squeeze Em so we brought her to bed with us for cuddles. She did good til about 5 am when she announced, “I needa go back to Emmy’s bed!” 🙂
Grandma and Pops brought her special car to Tulsa and we spent the next day watching these two birds cruise all over the yard together. So adorable. There is nothing that melts my heart more than watching these two have fun together and love on each other. It’s priceless.
After all that playtime a bath was in order…
Later that day we met up with friends at Angie’s for a playdate…
Afterwards we headed home to play with the fam and roll around in Em’s Beamer some more. 🙂 The kids LOVED having Grandma and Pops at the house and Aunt Chels and Uncle HJ over every night. It was party central around here all week. Em soaked up all the attention and Tuck loved being held and sang to. 🙂
The next day we celebrated Grandma’s birthday at Sho Guns with the fam! Emerson loved the entertainment and we were all entertained watching her face- absolute awe. Happy Birthday Grandma! You are so loved! Of course- a massive chocolate cake followed.
The next morning we hit the zoo for some family fun. This bear came right up to the window and slapped it with his paw. We all jumped back but Em just said, “I do it too, mom!” and went up to high-five him back. 🙂 We also got to watch a sea lion show, which was pretty cool!
During nap time Chelsea and I took Lyn for a birthday pedicure at ABC Nails, our favorite. Chels and I tried some pinteresty looks this time around. Girl time is just wonderful.
Emmy was so proud of her high pony-tail for church. She kept checking herself out in the mirror and bouncing it up and down. :)After church, we spent the day doing some yard work and more cruising. After naps, the cousins joined us for playtime, pizza, and a movie. 🙂
THE JUAREZ FAM
Last week Sunday, we woke up to COUSIN TIME!! They were all SO excited to see each other and Jonah kept saying all morning, “Emmy go my class! Emmy go church with Jonah!!” Let me just say, I give mad props to all you moms of 4- it is minor chaos trying to get out of the house with 4 under 4!
After church, we got everyone down for naps (including me :)) and then we headed over to the Andrew’s for Kenzie’s Fabulous 20’s Themed 1st Birthday. Happy Birthday beautiful little girl!
We ended our busy day with playtime outside, bubbles and a bath in the sink for the littlest man. 🙂
On Monday morning, we cancelled all our plans and decided that after the busy day before, a “home-day” was the best idea. We colored, made slime (great fun!), and played in the play room til lunch. I love seeing these 4 play together- pretending and exploring (with a little bit of encouragement to share 🙂 haha.)
After naps, we gathered our stuff together, took a couple final pictures and then headed to meet Emmy’s Grandma and Pops. The kids were ECSTATIC about Emmy’s BMW from her Pops. I have never seen Norah squeal so much in excitement!
After busy days with the cousins, we took Tuesday “off” to catch up on house jobs and run errands. The kids always love it when getting dog food is on our list of “to-do’s.”
Wednesday was a super fun, rainy day! We got to Face-time with Cooper and then headed outside to find some muddy puddles. The kids were hilarious-jumping, stomping, giggling, gasping. It was a precious memory for-sure!
On Thursday, we played outside and got to have a play-date with some of my college friends. It still feels surreal to see all these kids!
Friday was a school day for Norah. She STILL love love loves this tutu! Jonah has been struggling for a while now with recovering from a minor cold that went to his lungs. After talking with my doctor, I decided to take him into the Urgent Care. He loved all the buttons and equipment. His favorite phrases lately are “why?!” and “where this come from?!”… he said those two at least 100 times in our visit. So intrigued with how things work!
On Saturday, we soaked in the beautiful spring weather with a trip to the park with friends and that evening we set up the tent in the backyard for a dinner picnic. I can’t wait til warmer evenings and maybe even a backyard family sleepover! 🙂
Sunday was church, lunch at Mimi’s, story-time/dance party in the tent, and finally a last minute pizza/play-time with the cousins. Norah got to actually drive the car without the remote and I have to say her first driving lesson by Daddy was hilarious… I have a feeling we may be repeating ourselves in 12 years. She even had the “utterly confused” face down when she ran into some car trouble:) Overall….SO thankful that SPRING is finally here!
