I’ve been getting a little bit of a “teaching bug” lately, reminiscing on my time as a first grade teacher. So, I decided to peruse Pinterest for some learning activities I could make. One picture caught my eye with all the brightly colored tubes meant for sorting colorful puff balls. It reminded me of the tubes and balls at the children’s museum and how much Em loved watching the balls go in and fall out of the tubes. So, I set to work on crafting a quick and much sloppier version using paper towel rolls, tupperware bowls, and pieces of colorful pipe cleaners . She loves it! She hasn’t stopped playing with it all day. She’s even come up with her own games just using the pieces of pipe cleaners. We’ve already made huge improvements in her sorting abilities and color names in a few hours. Besides, sometimes you just need to mix things up.
