A day to celebrate our favorite girl…
The night before Emmy’s big birthday we did some birthday crown crafting. My mom brought over all of my old scrapbooking supplies and we had a blast going through a bazillion stickers and colors…
Since we are having a joint party for Emmy and Jonah next weekend, we decided to spend Em’s real birthday doing some of her favorite things. We woke her up with a happy birthday serenade. She smiled ear to ear and seemed to realize today was something special! We brought her down to pull the blanket off her new chair and vacuum. 🙂 Her thoughts on her chair- “peeeerfect!” haha
We watched her all time favorite (Nemo) and mommy made her a special pancake breakfast! They were a big hit and we kept hearing, “MORE! MOOOOORE please!”
After breakfast, we cleaned up and headed to Discovery Lab to play! It was Matt’s first time and Emmy loved showing him around. They adventured through the tape tunnels and played with lots of balls and blocks. Even baby Tuck had a good time.
Then, it was time to play at the park! Thank goodness for beautiful birthday weather! I have been feeling so cooped up with all this cold weather and really missing our days spent in the sunshine. So, this was wonderful. I definitely noticed Emmy was out of practice with climbing and running through the jungle gyms. She seemed a little nervous when normally she’s fearless. C’mon Spring!!
After the park, it was time for a cozy nap. Matt and I took advantage of our time sans kids and got to work on our Netflix commitments. 😉 Before long we could hear Emmy’s lovely singing voice and it was CUPCAKE TIME! “mmmm!”
Next, mommy and daddy got ready for another charity event date night. Emmy was so excited that Miss Zina was coming back to babysit. She greeted Zina at the door with a, “Hi, Zina! Bye daddy. Have fun! Bye mommy. Have fun!” haha I don’t know where she picked up the phrase, “Have fun!” but it was too cute. We got this picture at dinner and Zina told us later that she insisted on wearing her crown and dancing all night long. 🙂 That’s our 2 year old!
