The kids woke up with runny noses and no appetitie- so we decided it was the perfect day to cancel all plans and enjoy the home-front. Too bad Daddy isn’t here to play… jury duty is even less fun than kids who are under-the-weather.
After breakfast, vitamins, coloring, and a shower- the kiddos were breathing better. They headed upstairs to play, while I decided there was no longer an excuse to ignore the mountains of dusts building in the corners. I turned Pandora to “Gungor” (loving their new album!) and blasted the sound. My three-year-old came running, “what is this!?” She loved it so much that she came downstairs to just lay in the middle of the living room floor a bit. My almost 2-year-old little boy wasn’t into it and finally broke through his sister’s “moment,” after yelling “Sissssyyy!!!” 10+ times. Back up the stairs they went- puzzles and doctor toys awaiting.
As I scrubbed my floors, this beautiful song by JJ Heller came on.
I love the simplicity of her sound and the thoughts she sings.
Your hands that shaped the world
Are holding me
They hold me still
Wow, how often have I been overwhelmed by life. Stupid life things- whiny kids, diaper changes, cold weather… runny noses. God is so much bigger!
I rest in Him.
