Kids definitely put the fun in holidays…
This year I felt all the excitement of being a child all over again. I could hardly wait for Emmy to wake up on Christmas morning. We stared at her face with anticipation as she noticed all the presents that had magically appeared under the tree that morning. We had so much fun watching her open presents and find her favorites. This year she got her very own Elmo potty and quickly made it her “opening presents chair” for the entire morning.
Em wanted Tucker to have a taste from her new coffee maker. Tucker is always the best sport. She can do no wrong in his eyes. 🙂 Later, we took a break from gifts to make some hearty breakfast skillets and sinful cinnamon rolls. We skyped with Matt’s family and cuddled in to watch a little bit of Emmy’s new “fishy movie” (Finding Nemo). It was a relaxing, happy morning.
That afternoon we headed over to Gram and Pa’s to celebrate King-family-style. It’s safe to say Gram goes completely overboard. The second we got through the door we were told the kids “big presents” were waiting in the living room and no one could enter. The kids had to close their eyes and walk in to find their names. Emmy got to whip off the blankets to find a new jogging stroller and adorable dollhouse. They never stop thinking of exciting new “games” and adventures to entertain these kids. Emmy says, “Thanks Pa!”
Emmy got a couple barking/meowing animals and wasn’t too big of a fan. She kept cuddling Jonah-man for protection. 🙂 Norah was sweet as ever and so excited to show Emmy what she picked out for her! Nor and Jonah are both well aware of how special Elmo is to Emmy. They got her so many new Elmo toys and accessories. How did this obsession even begin??? Thanks for the gifts Uncle Josh! 🙂
My mom’s big Christmas surprise was that she sent H.J. and Lauren shopping for our gifts. We were pretty happy about it. 🙂
Silly girl and some Christmas loot…
The girls got matching tutu’s and danced the night away…but were pretty done with posing for pictures at this point. 🙂
But wait! There’s still stockings… Emmy got her favorite toy of the whole day, a spinning light-up Rudoph (probably $1). Doesn’t it always happen that way!? She wouldn’t stop kissing her new Rudolph and saying, “I like it!” haha!
Then we set the kids up with a little Christmas movie and the big kids got to eat dinner and talk. I miss the days when holidays meant playing games until late into the night. But, these goobers were pretty spent after a day of stimulation OVERLOAD!
We hope everyone had a merry Christmas and made special memories with the people they love…
