Our Week in Snapshots

Jonah had his 1 Year Well-Child check. Our little ham weighed in at 23lbs 8oz and is perfectly healthy! A clean bill of health will never be old news! So very thankful.

Josh taught Norah how to do a “trust fall” off the ledge of our couch today. Great parenting, right? haha Best part is that she loves it and Jonah was trying to figure out how to do it too!

We had a major “toddler battle” week with Norah this week. She was determined to be “the boss” of naptime and we were determined to remind her that she is still the kid. After MANY talks, spankings, and words of encouragement, Norah was back to her super wonderful self. Thank God! We celebrated with a Mommy-Daughter lunch date to Panera including a big cookie and an apple (her favorite foods :))!

While Daddy was at school this week, we decided to go play at Target. Sometimes, you just have to get out of the house!

Norah’s favorite part was seeing how fast she could race down the aisle. Supermarket Sweep?

Cooper came to play for a couple hours on Saturday. These two are so silly! They can make a game out of anything. πŸ™‚

Uncle Matt and Aunt Jodi watched the kids so that we could have a mini-date. We were so excited to see that Uncle Matt had taught Jonah his first accounting principles already! Save, Save, Save!

Sunday, we spent the day playing in the pool at Lifetime. The kids had so much fun, especially Jonah. Boy LOVES the water! 20130302-180509.jpg

Then, ALL 3 kids napped at the same time at Angie and Josh’s. What a miracle! We enjoyed making lunch and actually getting to have uninterrupted conversation and a game of spades. Lovely. The kids ended the night with a Β group bath-time. So precious!

On Monday, Matt and Emmy got some alone time, while I met some girlfriends for sushi and chocolate cake. What a treat, after being so cooped up with the cold weather. When I came home, I was surprised to find Emmy still awake and playing with daddy in their own little fort. It melts my heart to see the sweet bond they have. She’s a blessed little girl to have a daddy that loves her to pieces (and makes up fun games). They also have this new thing where anytime he smiles at her really big, she copies with the cheesiest ear-to-ear grin I’ve ever seen. Ah!

20130302-180400.jpgMatt was showing me their sweet new game of smiling back and forth and I captured so many shots, both hilarious and precious, of her cheesing back at dad. This one is a heart-melter and my absolute fav!

We had the family over during the week for some of the best turkey chili and playtime. Emmy and Jonah were buddies (besides the time they played tug-of-war with the peanut butter crackers). Emmy has started walking from place to place all by herself this week and chose to head straight for Jonah-man to give him a hug and kiss. Jonah wasn’t really into the kisses but he loooves the hugs. πŸ™‚

We met Gram and the cousins for some more fun at Chik Fil A this week. Gram is so good, she even crawled into the playroom to rescue Miss Em.

Every Friday, Bethany and I try to get the girls together to play, and ourselves together to watch Project Runway. Reese and Em both played kitchen in their little jean jackets and talked back and forth non-stop. Then, they both decided they’d rather play on the iphones than with each other. Not cool, we have some things to work on. πŸ™‚

This morning we headed straight for Starbucks. Emmy and daddy fed each other some breakfast and Emerson even said “Pleeeease” for some banana bread.

Aunt Angie watched Emmy for a little bit today while we did some house stuff. Auntie Ang thought Emmy needed to get her first pony-tail ever (she has quite a mullet going as of now). Next, we tried her first pigtails…haha πŸ™‚ She’s looking so old to me here.
