Turkey Day!

20121123-164501.jpgIt was a HAPPY Thanksgiving indeed for this little girl. We were so excited to have some free time with daddy and just RELAX! We started off our chilly morning by cooking up some omelets, catching up on “Survivor”, and taking our cutie outside for some pics. Her first Thanksgiving (tear). Holidays truly are so much more fun with kids. I look forward to making many traditions as our own little family. Traditions have always been so important to me and I am a stickler for keeping them. 20121123-164515.jpg

20121123-164527.jpgYesterday we spent the day at my parent’s house. We definitely missed having Angie, Josh, Norah, and Jonah there. 😦 We usually spend Thanksgiving with Angie’s in-laws. Her mother-in-law, Kim, is an amazing cook! It’s so fun to all be together, going through the black Friday coupons, sometimes venturing out for the deals. This year they all decided to travel south to visit extended family (how could they break tradition???) πŸ™‚ We had fun lounging at the parents house though. Our family is kind of big on Scrabble so we had some major battles. If you can beat my dad, you have something to brag about. So… I WON! I WON! I WON! Before the scrabbling began and Miss Emmy went down for a nappy she got a little taste of some turkey. How do you think she liked it?20121123-164543.jpg

20121123-164554.jpgWe were just cracking up. I think she thought this turkey leg was still alive! She backed away from it like she was so scared. Poor girl. She did munch on lots of little pieces of turkey though. She is getting so old now, eating all our table food. Not cool! Can time slow down even a little bit? Now it’s almost Christmas! AH!

Since Angie’s fam is out of town we get to babysit this little girl for a couple days. Someone’s enjoying it! She keeps her eyes on Xavi all the time. I think she might need a puppy! 20121123-165055.jpg

I felt so lame for not braving the Black Friday shopping once we woke up this morning. I was so tired last night and didn’t feel like running out alone since Emmy was already asleep. Little did I know the mall (Baby Gap) opened at midnight. Man, am I out of the loop!? So as soon as little E woke up from her morning nap, we rushed out the door to see if there were ANY deals left to be scored! I did find some fabulous items but my most favorite was definitely this new little leopard print coat for Emmy. I found it at Old Navy already on sale and then misplaced on a 50% off rack. The sales clerk gave me the discount anyway and I walked out the door with a stylin’ winter coat for $9! Woo-hoo! Does anyone else get an endorphin rush when they get a good deal!? 20121123-165102.jpg

All in all it’s been such a nice Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for. Most of all I am thankful for my relationship with Jesus. He is full of grace and mercy! He has blessed our family with so much love and laughter. I’m so thankful for my wonderful hubby and healthy baby girl. I’m beyond blessed.
